about

This is a double EP release with Cat Boy Sound AKA Haku Records AKA Sapphire's Garden AKA Brandon Harris.

Brandon released the different versions of these tracks as multiple releases under his various aliases over the past few months, but I'm putting my mixes/masters in one place as an EP today.

These tracks were all recorded in five separate 2-hour sessions between 12/6/23 and 3/26/24 at Brandon's studio (Haku Records) and on my laptop, in my room.

Some of these songs were made with the music dice that Brandon made a while back; each die had something different on it related to music (e.g., time signatures, chords, modes, etc), resulting in some meter and harmonic combination that Brandon had never played before.

Wacky meters and harmony are kinda my specialty, so Brandon enlisted me to help fill the tracks out, so I added additional parts (countermelodies, drums, pads, etc), then mixed the tracks to my style and sent him stems with and without my processing.

Go to Brandon's various pages to hear his mixes and arrangements of what I did, and enjoy my takes on these songs.

They all have different names too, by the way. I like naming tunes, and obviously had to make it a fun challenge to figure out which songs are different from each other.

Personnel:

Brandon Harris– guitar, bass guitar, pedal steel, piano, synths
Machado Mijiga– drums, piano, synths
