about

I remember the year I moved to Pullman, WA for college and was stoked to play music with REAL PEOPLE for once, instead of play-along CD's I had littered around the house. I asked a colleague of mine from Pullman who the best drummer in town was, and when he told me it was this 14 year-old kid named David, I didn't believe him... until I heard him play.

Anyways, D.Ward and I go way back, and he somehow manages to STILL get better every year.

So here's "Fuschia". I wrote the chord progression about two years ago, but just got around to realizing it as an actual track. I tend to write really linear, non-functional harmony, so I wanted to have some sort of ii-V cadence in a tune for once, then promptly went right back to my old ways for the B-Section.

I squawked out a wee sax solo toward the end, since I haven't been tootin' the horn much lately.
