about

Domo is a force of nature. He's been a fixture of the Portland music community since his was a little kid. For as long as I've known him, Domo has played with this tremendous energy; an absolute joy just radiates from him. Domo is a teenager with the sensibilities of an old man that's been doing things for decades, but the creativity and innovation of the newest generation of young lions cutting their teeth in NYC.

Domo left Portland to go to Manhattan School of Music. He's since played with Wynton Marsalis, Taylor Eigsti, and many more worldwide luminaries, while also forming groups with his peers, where they can lift each other up and toss around new ideas.

I guess my silver-lining to the current situation, is that I can actually collaborate with this usually insanely-busy guy and put his mastery to work for this project.

This track, "Meadow", re-purposes the chords to a re-harmonization of a jazz standard I did maybe 3 years ago. (Props if you can guess which one)
It's an 8-bar loop, and I only tracked one part manually. The remaining sound design as all from frequency excitement, pan automation, and echo layering, with some conflicting compression settings across the various parts.

This means, that any sounds besides the keyboard part that you're hearing are all digital artifacts found in some aspect of what Domo is playing on drums.
