Matt is a true protagonist. Kind, talented, incredibly charming, a devoted husband, inspiring educator, prolific composer, looks great in a leather jacket. Matt has full command of piano, drums, vibes, and his own voice. His creative output inspires and puts me to shame, and he can whup my butt at some Super Smash Bros.

Matt has been instrumental (pun intended) to my development as a musician here, and has also been an incredibly supportive colleague, and most importantly, a very good friend of mine who is a joy to be around.

Oh, and about this track; "Parallax"...

I'm sorry to say, but there's more singing on this one, and it doesn't happen to Matt's much better voice this time around. I sent Matt a nice short chord progression at a tempo where I felt he could play around and speak his Matt'isms, and left a nice healthy loop at the end for him to rip on. He took the bait, and ripped away, and I tried to set the vocals up in the first portion of the track to build towards that drum solo, then open up the sonic space for him a bit.

Speaking of "space", the lyrics kinda have a spacey theme since I was playing around with brighter vocals and some chorus effects this time around. I normally shy away from the brightness and airiness of my voice, but I leaned into it for this one, and drenched everything in interstellar reverb.
